Going To Goma is a fundraising campaign created by 243ProNetwork.
Goma, the capital of the North Kivu province in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, is home to Mount Nyiragongo which is an active stratovolcano with an elevation of 3,470 m. Sadly on 23 May 2021 the volcano once again erupted leaving a trail of poverty, fear, and the displacement of people. To date the death toll is over thirty and counting; the volcano’s last eruption in 2002 claimed at least 250 lives and made over 120,000 residents homeless
The aim of this campaign was to also partner with organisations that focus on ensuring access to clean and safe water, access to medical services, access to basic personal hygiene products and, access to temporary shelter.
