How to build a printing company website in WordPress

A successful printing business needs more than quality printing equipment and great customer service. In today’s digital marketplace, your website is often the first place potential customers go to discover your services, compare options, and request a quote.

This project focused on rebuilding a Printing Company WordPress Website for Print Mint, a printing company based in Adelaide, South Australia. The objective was to create a professional, easy-to-navigate website that reflected the Print Mint brand while making it easier for customers to find printing services and request information.

The project followed a structured six-step process: understanding the brief, developing the strategy, creating the moodboard, establishing the brand theme, building the website in WordPress, and launching the supporting campaign.

Design a WordPress website in 6 steps:

1. Understanding the Brief

The first step was understanding what Print Mint needed from its new website.

The brief required a website that matched the existing Print Mint visual identity while improving online visibility through Local SEO. Another important requirement was integrating an instant quotation system so visitors could quickly understand potential printing costs without having to go through a lengthy enquiry process.

This meant the website needed to balance three important objectives:

  • Strong visual branding

  • Simple and intuitive navigation

  • Useful functionality that supports enquiries and conversions

For a printing business, this is particularly important because customers may be looking for anything from flyers and business cards to posters, signage, document printing, or scanning.

2. Developing a Web Strategy

Once the brief was established, the next stage was developing a web strategy around usability, functionality, and content.

The strategy considered the website CMS, CRM, and plugin requirements, while the content structure was planned around a simple user experience and clear navigation. A mega menu was also considered to help users quickly navigate the different categories of printing services.

The final website reflects this approach with clearly organised service categories covering Digital & Wide Format, Legal Printing & Scans, and Document Printing & Scans.

The goal was simple: help customers find the right printing service with as few clicks as possible.

3. Creating the Website Moodboard

Before designing the website, moodboards were created to establish the visual direction.

The process included both a website moodboard and an advertising moodboard.

This stage helped establish the visual language for the website, ensuring that the design, imagery, and promotional materials could work together as part of one consistent brand experience.

For a printing company, visual communication is especially important. The website needs to demonstrate quality through its own design while allowing the company's printed products to remain the visual focus.

4. Developing the Brand Theme

The next stage was preparing the website's visual identity and digital assets.

The Print Mint brand theme was prepared using Canva Brand Kit, while the website design and supporting media were developed with Canva. Multiple media formats and sizes were prepared for use throughout the website and marketing campaign.

This approach created a consistent visual system that could be carried across website pages, blog content, and social media advertising.

5. Building the Printing Company WordPress Website

With the strategy and visual direction established, the website was built in WordPress.

The process included importing images into the WordPress Media Library and installing the Astra Theme Builder before developing and customising the individual pages. Global brand settings, headers, menus, pages, blog templates and footers were then developed to create a consistent website experience.

One of the most important features was the price calculator, designed to help visitors quickly understand printing costs and move closer to requesting a quote.

On-page SEO was also incorporated using the Yoast SEO plugin, while a consistent blog template was created to support future content marketing. The mega menu was developed specifically to make navigation easier on desktop devices.

The finished website now presents Print Mint as a local printing destination offering digital printing, large-format posters, document services, event invitations, signage, and finishing services.

6. Launching the Digital Campaign

A website launch should not be the end of a project. It should be the beginning of an ongoing digital marketing strategy.

For Print Mint, the campaign included three blog articles, consistent social media banner designs, and three 30-second promotional motion reels.

This content strategy helps the website continue attracting visitors after launch while giving the business additional opportunities to promote its printing services across digital channels.

The Result: A Website Built Around the Customer

The new Print Mint website demonstrates how a Printing Company WordPress Website can combine branding, usability, SEO, and functionality into one digital platform.

Rather than simply listing printing services, the website is structured to help customers discover solutions, understand what Print Mint offers, and take the next step towards getting a quote.

With a clear service structure, responsive WordPress design, SEO-focused content, integrated quotation functionality, and supporting digital marketing assets, the website provides Print Mint with a stronger foundation for growing its online presence.

Conclusion

Building a successful printing website requires more than choosing a WordPress theme and adding a few service pages. It requires a clear understanding of the business, its customers, its services and the actions visitors need to take.

The Print Mint project demonstrates a practical process for developing a Printing Company WordPress Website — from the initial brief and strategy through visual development, WordPress implementation, SEO and campaign launch.

When design, functionality and marketing work together, a website becomes more than an online brochure. It becomes a practical tool for helping a printing business attract customers, communicate its services and generate new enquiries.
